Ida Marie Koerner

The Ida Marie Koerner Scholarship is presented annually to select Green Country Technology Center high school seniors. This scholarship was established in 2006 when Miss Koerner bequeathed the scholarship funds to GCTC upon her passing. Miss Koerner was the Okmulgee County Treasurer for 18 years and a strong supporter of Green Country Technology Center.

This fund provides scholarship monies to several outstanding GCTC seniors annually to aid in continuing their education.

IDA MARIE KOERNER SCHOLARSHIP

 

 Qualifications: 

  • Must have a minimum of 2.75 GPA at GCTC.
     
  • Must be within the attendance policy (90% attendance rate).
     
  • Must agree to acquire the scholarship by the Fall Semester immediately following high school graduation.

 

 

Otha Grimes - Francis Tuttle Memorial Scholarship

The late Otha H. Grimes served as a member of the board of directors of the Oklahoma CareerTech Foundation for a number of years. This scholarship is awarded each semester to select adult students enrolled in a program at a Career and Technology Centers across Oklahoma. The scholarships are awarded in the fall and spring semesters yearly.

  • Available to adult students who are Oklahoma residents enrolled in a program at a Career and Technology Center
     
  • Awarded in the Fall and Springs (Call for deadlines)

 One Year - One Career

The One Year, One Career Tuition Waiver provides qualifying students, who have not attended GCTC in high school, with a tuition waiver for ONE field of study in a long-term career training program (excluding the Practical Nursing program).

To qualify, students must be eligible to receive a diploma from one of the Okmulgee County High Schools. Applicants must provide GCTC with a final high school transcript within a reasonable amount of time following their date of graduation and prior to the first day of class. Applicants must not have already attended GCTC in high school. Applicant must be aware that enrollment is contingent upon availability of space in their program of choice

One Year - One Career Scholarship

 Qualifications: 

  • Must be eligible to receive a high school diploma and reside in the Green Country Technology Center District.
     
  • Must provide GCTC with a final high school transcript within a reasonable time of their date of graduation and prior to August 1.
     
  • Must agree to follow the enrollment procedure including the entrance exam (ACT Work Keys).
     
  • Must also agree to pursue the program of choice beginning the fall semester immediately following their high school graduation.

 

 NOTE:  The Practical Nursing program is excluded from this scholarship.

 

Senior Scholarship

This scholarship is awarded to GCTC students who attended their Senior year only. This scholarship allows them to return in the fall to complete their program tuition free. Awarded students must agree to acquire the scholarship the year immediately following high school graduation. This scholarship is good for one semester, full-time program.

Senior Scholarship

 Qualifications:

  • Must be a GCTC High School Senior.
     
  • Must reside in the GCTC district.
     
  • Must agree to acquire the scholarship the year immediately following high school graduation.
     
  • Maximum benefit is 525 hours at the in-district rate.

 

 NOTE:  The Practical Nursing program is excluded from this scholarship.
 

 

 

 Gene Haas Foundation Scholarship 

In 1999 Gene Haas founded the Gene Haas Foundation. Growing up with a strong social conscience instilled by his family, Haas initially formed the foundation to fund the needs of the local community. Haas is the owner Haas Automation, Inc., America’s leading builder of CNC machine tools, which he started in 1983. Haas Automation is a now a billion dollar company and this extraordinary growth has all come in an era when American’s were being told that the United States doesn’t manufacture anything anymore. Those perceptions and decisions made in our education system regarding vocational education have lead to dire statistics.

GHF’s primary goal is to build skills in the machining industry by providing scholarships for CNC machine technology students and NIMS credentials.

SCHOLARSHIPS can be used for tuition, books, student’s personal NIMS account, cost of individual NIMS credentials and small personal tools the tools students are required by program to purchase.

Available only to full-time students in the NIMS Certified CNC Machine Operator Program.

 Gene Haas Foundation Scholarship

 Qualifications:
  • Post-secondary student currently enrolled in GCTC's CNC Machine Operator Program
  • Successful completion of the 1st 480 Clock-Hours of the CNC Machine Operator Program as described below:
    • 90% attendance rate for the 1st 480 Clock-Hours of the program
    • 80% or better grade average for the 1st 480 Clock-Hours of the program
  • CNC Instructor Recommended

NOTE: This scholarship is only granted as funds are available and

              at a maximum tuition only rate for 480 Clock-Hours.
