Currently the Practical Nursing Department has 25 students. May 5th
brings about the first pinning ceremony for the 2009 classes. There
are five students completing the program and we would like to wish
them good luck on the National Licensing Exam. (NCLEX).
Shortly after the pinning ceremony, we will be moving into the new
Practical Nursing Department. We are excited to have more room since
we have had 30 students in a room designed for 20. We will be sending
out invitations for the Open House. The Drafting Instructor, Todd Anderson,
designed the department after visiting with the Nursing Instructors.
The Carpentry class, led by Mr. Emerson has done a great job framing
walls, hanging sheetrock and building desks for the department. We
are very pleased to watch these young men do such a great job.
The nursing department is currently accepting applications for the
September class. The May class has been filled for about 6 weeks and
will begin class in the new department on May 11, 2009.
Many changes are taking place and we look forward to the challenges
that are ahead for the Nursing Department at Green Country Technology
Center.
